Job summary

Human Services Association LA in California seeks a seasoned professional to oversee the MSSP program's administration and operations.

You will supervise staff, conduct performance evaluations, manage contracts and budgets, and lead community outreach while ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements.

You will build partnerships with public/private agencies countywide, drive QA/PIs, and participate in grant development as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field; LCSW preferred.
  • Three years post-Master’s Degree in aging with emphasis on community-based services.
  • Two years of supervisory or program-management experience.
  • Valid California driver's license and access to a vehicle.

Job description

  • Under the supervision of the Senior Services Director, provide overall administration of the MSSP program.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Direct supervision, ongoing support and provide staff development for all supervised staff.
  • Perform annual performance evaluations.
  • Produce all required program reports timely. Establishing systems as needed.
  • Complete, update and review program policies and procedures
  • Attend and conduct meetings, outreach and presentations internally and in community.
  • Ensure contract compliance and monitoring of program budget.
  • Establish and maintain effective working partnerships and relationships with public and private agencies countywide.
  • Complete quality assurance and performance improvement activity.
  • Analyze situations and adopt effective course of action for staff and clients.
  • Participate in grant development activities as assigned.
  • Oversight of all contracted vendors and license requirements.
  • Risk management compliance- mandated reporting State and Federal Laws.
  • Maintain professional standards of practice.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Strong verbal, written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible and able to prioritize tasks as needed for client, staff, or agency needs.
  • Leadership qualities and ability to work as a team member.
  • Computer literate to include Microsoft Office software.
  • Working knowledge of LA County, government and social services programs/resources.
  • Preferred Bilingual (English /Spanish).
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work or Master’s degree in related field. LCSW preferred.
  • Three years post-Master’s Degree in the field of aging with an emphasis in service delivery of community based programs. Two years of supervisory, program coordination, or management experience.
LICENSING/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Driving is required. Must provide own vehicle, valid California Driver’s License and proof of full insurance coverage.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Negative tuberculosis screen (required).
  • Bilingual, English/Spanish, highly desirable.
  • We require the selected candidate to undergo a criminal background check using the Live Scan fingerprinting method in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Work in moderate noise levels and non-smoking environment
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds independently
  • Frequently involves sitting, standing, walking, squatting, bending, and climbing stairs (as needed)
  • Occasionally may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Must be able to speak and hear clearly to communicate effectively
  • Constantly operates a computer, keyboard, and other various office machinery
  • Majority of job duties are performed onsite; however, visits to different sites may be required

In accordance with California law, the expected pay range for this position is posted with this position. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
