Job summary

Semcac Senior Nutrition seeks a full-time Floating Cook/Program Assistant to support kitchen operations across an 11-county area. The role involves traveling to multiple sites and providing coverage for vacations, illnesses, and LOAs. This exempt position offers 40 hours per week with no nights, weekends, or holidays.

The ideal candidate will have culinary experience, be capable of training staff, and support program managers with hiring and development. A full benefits package is provided.

• Ensure menu compliance for Older Americans Act programs and Head Start contracts.
• Provide training and on-site support for Microsoft Office and other web-based programs.
• Support online ordering and inventory processes.
• Assist sites and food deliverers as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

JOB STATUS: Semcac Senior Nutrition is looking for a Full-Time, 40 hour/week Floating Cook/Program Assistant for our 11-county service area. Exempt Position.

LOCATION: The position would be based at the closest Semcac location, and an agency vehicle would be provided, as travel to sites will be required.

Would you like to make a difference in the lives of seniors in your community?Semcac Senior Nutrition provides a home-cooked, noon meal Monday through Friday. These meals are served at our Congregate dining sites and to numerous communities as Meals on Wheels. This position is Monday-Friday, with no nights, weekends, or holidays.

The primary responsibility of this position would be to support our kitchen operations across the service area.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting all our seven kitchens and 40 sites across our 11-county service area.
• Assisting the Program Manager/Coordinator with Hiring, Training, and Development.
• Support and coverage at kitchens for vacations, illness, LOA’s, and turnover.
• Ensuring menu compliance for Older Americans Act programs, Head Start programs, and other contracts.
• Training and on-site support for Microsoft Office and other web-based programs.
• Support and training on online ordering and inventory.
• Support for sites and food deliverers as needed.
• Various other duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION:

$23.65-$26.61. Higher rates are available for those with 10 or more years of direct experience. Semcac offers prorated holidays, a full benefit package, a 401(k) retirement plan, an Employee Assistance Program, and optional insurance benefits, including vision.
