Job summary

The City of Charlotte is seeking a Procurement Agent Senior to support the Services and Commodities Procurement Team. This role handles formal and informal procurement, contract administration, and vendor coordination for citywide services and goods.

Reporting to the Services and Commodities Procurement Manager, you will ensure compliance with contracts, manage post‑award activities, and drive best value while collaborating with City Legal, Risk Management, and Internal Audit across departments.

Qualifications

• Requires in-depth knowledge of solicitation and procurement of services, goods and commodities.
• Public procurement purchasing experience is required.
• Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and speech.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates procurement and contracting activities from intake to execution.
• Develops solicitation documents and coordinates informal and formal solicitations.
• Coordinates post-solicitation activities including vendor debriefs and award conferences.
• Performs contract administration, monitoring and reporting as required.
• Advises on procurement processes, project planning, and scope development.
• Interfaces with stakeholders to achieve contracting objectives and drive cost savings.
