Summary:We are seeking a Senior ServiceNow Platform Architect to define the technical strategy, lead complex solution designs, and establish enterprise governance for the ServiceNow platform. The primary focus of the role is designing, governing, and continuously improving a highly integrated ServiceNow ecosystem across a multi-vendor environment. The architect will serve as the foremost technical authority for the platform and define the long-term roadmap for ServiceNow, CMDB, ITOM, AI, automation, and service management initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and govern integrations between ServiceNow and external vendor and supplier ITSM platforms (APIs, eBonding frameworks, Integration Hub, middleware, webhooks, event-driven architectures).
- Define and maintain the multi-vendor integration strategy for Incident, Change, Request, Problem, Asset, and Configuration Management.
- Architect integrations with monitoring platforms (Azure Monitor, SolarWinds, SCOM, and other observability solutions).
- Lead integration strategies with cloud platforms, including Azure Cloud, to support CMDB Discovery, Service Mapping, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
- Establish standards for APIs, REST/SOAP, Integration Hub, MID Server architecture, data synchronisation, security, scalability, resilience, and performance.
- Define integration governance, lifecycle management, monitoring, and operational support models.
- Platform Architecture, Governance and Solution Design
- Lead the architecture of the platform across ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping, Strategic Portfolio Management, IT Asset Management, and emerging AI capabilities.
- Chair the ServiceNow Architectural Governance Forum and act as the final design authority.
- Produce HLDs, Solution Architecture Documents, Integration Architecture Designs, architecture decision records, and platform standards.
- Promote OOTB capabilities to minimise customisation and technical debt.
- Define implementation, coding, testing, and release governance standards.
- Define the upgrade strategy and technical debt remediation roadmap.
- Oversee Automated Test Framework adoption and architectural compliance reviews.
- Drive CMDB governance, Service Mapping, and configuration data quality.
AI, Automation and Innovation Strategy:
- Define and lead the ServiceNow AI and automation strategy.
- Evaluate, govern, and implement Agentic AI, Generative AI, Predictive Intelligence, Virtual Agent, and intelligent automation.
- Establish governance controls and standards for AI adoption, aligned with security, compliance, and data governance.
Strategic Leadership and Stakeholder Advisory:
- Serve as the trusted technical adviser to the Head of IT Service Management and senior leadership.
- Lead architectural governance forums and technical steering discussions with stakeholders, suppliers, and technology teams.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to developers, administrators, business analysts, and implementation partners.
- Drive architectural consistency across ServiceNow initiatives globally.
Must Haves:
- 10+ years of enterprise IT experience, including at least 5 years in a Lead Architect or Senior ServiceNow Architect role.
- Proven experience designing and governing ServiceNow platforms in large-scale, multi-vendor enterprise environments.
- Extensive experience leading complex ServiceNow transformation programmes and enterprise architecture initiatives.
- Deep hands-on expertise in ITSM, ITOM, Discovery, Event Management, Service Mapping, CMDB, IT Asset Management, Strategic Portfolio Management, Integration Hub, Flow Designer, Performance Analytics, and ServiceNow AI capabilities.
- Strong understanding of ServiceNow data models, platform security, performance, maintainability, and upgrade considerations.
- Proven experience architecting integrations between ServiceNow and external vendor ITSM platforms in a multi-vendor operating model.
- Extensive experience designing enterprise API frameworks and integration architectures.
- Strong knowledge of REST, SOAP, webhooks, middleware, event-driven architecture, Integration Hub, and MID Servers.
- Experience integrating monitoring, observability, cloud, identity, and enterprise business systems with ServiceNow.
- Hands-on capability in JavaScript, HTML, PowerShell, web services, integration troubleshooting, and technical development oversight.
- Experience chairing architecture review boards or architectural governance forums.
- Proven ability to define architectural standards, roadmaps, policies, and design principles.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior and executive-level decisions.
- Experience leading geographically distributed teams, suppliers, and implementation partners.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.

- Certified Technical Architect (CTA) or Certified Master Architect (CMA) – highly desirable.
