Job summary

Summit Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior ServiceNow Developer to design and deliver technical solutions within the ServiceNow environment for a government client. The role requires extensive enterprise-level ServiceNow development, ITSM knowledge, and the ability to create scalable, secure applications.

The position is full-time and hybrid, based in Washington, DC, with on-site work three days per week. Applicants must be eligible for a U.S.

Qualifications

• Six or more years of enterprise ServiceNow development experience.

Job description

Summit Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior ServiceNow Developer to support our government client. In this role, you will provide the design and delivery of technical solutions and custom application development within the ServiceNow environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive enterprise-level ServiceNow development experience, a strong understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM), and a solution-driven mindset to deliver scalable, secure, and effective technical solutions that meet organizational needs.

This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Washington, DC, requiring on-site work three (3) days per week. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Public Trust clearance and meet the client's applicable eligibility requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop, design, configure, and release new ServiceNow application modules, workflows, and Service Catalog requests.
• Design and deliver technical solutions and custom applications on the ServiceNow platform to meet enterprise business and IT service management requirements.
• Configure and customize ServiceNow functionality, including Flow Designer, workflow administration, reporting, data imports, custom scripting, and third-party software integrations.
• Develop integrations and process automation using APIs and data integration processes between ServiceNow and other enterprise services.
• Create and maintain Service Catalog items and Knowledge Bases.
• Collaborate with the IT Service Management team and key client stakeholders across IT and business organizations to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into ServiceNow configurations, application designs, and scalable technical solutions.
• Architect integrations using LDAP, single sign-on (SSO), MID Servers, web services, email, and internal applications and technologies.
• Support Enterprise Architecture and Application Portfolio Management (APM) capabilities within the ServiceNow environment.
• Develop and customize core ServiceNow applications, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management, Service Portal, Service Catalog, and process automation/orchestration.
• Support and maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), ensuring Configuration Item (CI) accuracy and completeness and alignment with the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
• Configure application security controls and support data security, access management, and secure platform operations.
• Perform technical configurations, application maintenance, and platform housekeeping activities.
• Troubleshoot ServiceNow application configuration, integration, scripting, and other technical issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve platform functionality, automate business processes, and optimize ServiceNow performance.
• Participate in application sizing, resource planning, and scalability assessments to support future growth.
• Maintain technical documentation and communicate complex technical concepts and solutions clearly to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

Required Experience and Skills

• At least six (6) years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience, including six (6) or more years working in an enterprise-level environment.
• Experience administering, configuring, customizing, and enhancing the ServiceNow platform.
• Experience with Enterprise Architecture and Application Portfolio Management (APM).
• Proficiency in HTML, Angular, and JavaScript.
• Experience developing and maintaining ServiceNow Service Catalog items and Service Portal functionality.
• Experience with the ServiceNow CMDB and Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
• Experience with ServiceNow Workplace Service Delivery (WSD) and Now Assist modules.
• Functional knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
• Experience creating and customizing ServiceNow applications, workflows, and process automation/orchestration solutions.
• Experience integrating ServiceNow with other applications and enterprise services.
• Ability to adapt existing methods and procedures to develop solutions to complex technical problems.
• Ability to plan resource requirements based on high-level specifications.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts in plain language.

Education

• Bachelor's degree and eight (8) or more years of relevant experience; or
• Master's degree and six (6) or more years of relevant experience; or
• Equivalent subsequent work experience, subject to client requirements.

Security Clearance

• Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Public Trust clearance.
• Candidates must meet the client's applicable eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship or qualifying Green Card status.
