Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a Server & Storage Engineering leader to guide enterprise compute and storage modernization. You will drive server consolidation, storage optimization, and multi-cloud design across mainframe and x86 environments.

The role emphasizes AI-assisted capacity analysis, scalable architectures, and cost-efficient strategies, with extensive travel required for client engagements. This is a full-time opportunity within A&M's Corporate Performance Improvement practice.

Qualifications

8-12+ years of enterprise server and storage engineering experience with consulting or advisory delivery.
Bachelor's degree required; vendor certifications valued (IBM, Dell/EMC, NetApp, VMware).
Willingness to travel up to 80%.

Responsibilities

Lead server and storage assessments, inventory analysis and platform rationalisation.
Develop retirement roadmaps for legacy platforms with migration paths and risk mitigation.
Analyse resource utilisation to identify rightsizing and consolidation opportunities.
Design target-state compute/storage architectures balancing cost, performance, availability, and security.
Assess workload placement options across on-premises, private cloud, and public cloud.
Integrate findings into A&M's engagement scope and deliverables.
Support practice development through internal training and thought leadership.
