Job summary

State Street in Boston is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer (Server Side) to join the GlobalLink Technical Operations Team. You will provide second level support, build next generation infrastructure, diagnose issues across server, network, database and storage, and collaborate with engineering to ensure high availability.

The role requires strong scripting (Python, Bash), Terraform and Ansible, AWS, Apache/Nginx, Linux administration, and middleware such as Kafka, RabbitMQ or IBM

Qualifications

• 15+ years of IT experience.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, Ansible, Terraform.
• Strong familiarity with web servers Apache/Nginx.
• Linux system administration knowledge (RedHat preferred).
• Knowledge of TCP/UDP, load balancing, NAT, firewalls.
• Strong troubleshooting across kernel to app/network layers.
• Working knowledge of AWS cloud and automation.
• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, IBM WMQ.

Responsibilities

• Provide second level support for GlobalLink Applications.
• Build next generation infrastructure for new initiatives.
• Diagnose and resolve issues across server, network, database, and storage layers.
• Provide operational support for security and compliance management.
• Execute Change Management tasks in Production, UAT and other environments.
• Contribute to migration tasks for maintainability, performance, and HA.
• Monitor system performance and propose improvements.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Development to deliver a highly available system.
• Participate in on-call rotation and weekend maintenance.
