Job summary

Meta in Menlo Park, CA is seeking a Research Scientist to own multi-horizon server demand forecasting and to build production-grade optimization and forecasting systems. You will aggregate signals from product groups into a trusted long term plan and formulate demand-supply matching that aligns roadmaps with capacity constraints.

Collaborating with data center engineering, capacity planning, and finance, you will drive reproducible releases for critical decisions and help land the right hardware

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years applying OR/MS to demand planning, capacity planning, or related problems.
• MS in a quantitative field or equivalent experience.
• Strong toolkit: optimization, simulation, queuing theory, probabilistic forecasting.
• Ability to build production-grade models and fast prototype models.
• Experience reconciling forecasted demand with constrained supply, lead times, and inventory.
• Experience with solvers (Gurobi/CPLEX/Xpress/OR-Tools) and SQL + Python.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive a multi-horizon server/MW demand forecast.
• Aggregate demand signals into a single long-term plan.
• Formulate and solve demand-supply matching with roadmaps, cooling, and power constraints.
• Build production-grade optimization and forecasting systems and prototypes.
• Partner with data center engineering, site selection, and hardware strategy teams.
