Job summary

AMD is seeking an expert in analog/mixed-signal circuit design and architecture for Serdes technology in San Jose, CA. The candidate will own critical analog blocks, define micro-architectures for Tx/Rx subsystems, and manage budgets for power, performance, area, and jitter.

Ideal candidates have 200G+ CMOS transceiver experience, hands-on optimization skills, and a proven track record from design through ramp to mass production. Ph.D. or MS with industrial experience is required.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or MS with relevant industrial experience in optical/electrical transceiver design.

Responsibilities

• Own performance-critical analog mixed-signal circuit blocks used in Serdes (DAC/ADC, clocking, etc.).
• Define circuit-driven micro-architectures of Tx and Rx subsystems and drive sub-block specs.
• Own power, performance, area, and jitter budgets of analog design blocks.
• Mentor sub-block owners and conduct peer reviews of design and verification results.
• Collaborate with pre-tapeout verification and post-silicon validation teams to bring up silicon and analyze results.
