AMD is seeking a highly motivated Analog/Mixed‑Signal Design Co‑op in San Jose to contribute to high‑speed communication and optical interconnect technologies. You’ll work on hands‑on circuit design, architecture definition, and simulations with industry tools, collaborating with a world‑class team.

You’ll gain experience in advanced FinFET technologies, RF passive components, and silicon‑photonics transceivers while pursuing a PhD or equivalent studies.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a PhD in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• Experience in analog and mixed-signal circuit design including ADCs, DACs, CTLEs, PLLs for SerDes.
• Strong knowledge of high‑speed SerDes architectures and circuit design principles.

Responsibilities

• Define circuit architectures for high‑bandwidth electrical and optical links.
• Perform link‑level simulations using MATLAB and SPICE to validate architectures.
• Model on‑die RF passive components such as inductors and capacitors and optical structures.
• Design and implement key circuit blocks (DACs, SAR‑ADCs, sample‑and‑hold, analog front ends, PLLs).
• Gain exposure to high‑speed ADC‑based receivers and DAC‑based transmitters.
