Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Sensor Simulation Expert to design, develop, validate, and improve high-fidelity virtual sensor models within the NVIDIA Omniverse ecosystem.

You will enable autonomous systems, digital twins, and virtual testing by accurately representing real-world sensor behavior. Collaborate with autonomy, perception, and software teams to accelerate product development while reducing physical testing needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline is required.
• 5+ years in sensor development, simulation, robotics, or related fields.
• Proficient in Python and C++.
• Experience with NVIDIA Omniverse or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of sensor physics and perception systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-fidelity sensor models for cameras, LiDAR, radar, GNSS, IMU.
• Create validation methodologies and metrics for sensor fidelity.
• Build configurable sensor models for multiple hardware platforms.
• Develop Omniverse Kit extensions and workflows for sensor simulation.
• Collaborate with perception and autonomy teams to support algorithm testing.
