Job summary

The Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, Inc. in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Senior Sensor Electronics Engineer to design, specify, develop, and test analog electronics for a broad range of applications including precision instrumentation and motor controllers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field required.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • 5–10 years of experience in electrical engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Optimizes system designs for reduced size, weight, and power.
  • Designs new products and develops technical specifications for their production.
  • Analyzes hardware configuration and processing solutions and tests hardware conformance to specifications.
  • Independently drives solutions to complex problems - develops requirements, proposes ways forward when customer requirements are unclear or incomplete, and adapts appropriately to changes in requirements.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) able to develop advanced architectures and designs for complex electronics.
  • Involved in business development and proposal activities.
  • Identifies program/system-level technical risks and develops and executes mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to manage multi-disciplinary tasks with a cross functional team and effectively communicates status to project leadership and customers.
  • Develops, documents, and teaches best practices to less experienced teammates.
  • Demonstrates strong organization, planning, and time management skills to achieve program goals.
  • Support business development and proposal activities.
