Job summary

SkyWater Technology is seeking an Sr. Equipment Engineer in Florida to own all assigned toolsets and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electronics, and process issues using tool knowledge and SPC.

The role involves collaboration with maintenance, process engineering, vendors, and other engineers to keep equipment reliable and productive. The candidate will lead root cause actions, support continuous improvement, and contribute to tool upgrades and starts up to enhance fab capacity and yields.

Qualifications

• Education and 1–3 years of experience in relevant area.
• Experience with High Vacuum and Toxic Gas Delivery systems.
• Ability to apply structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and management of 200/300MM semiconductor processing equipment (Wet Etch/Wafer Clean, Electroplate, CMP).
• Drive root cause corrective actions and implement permanent solutions to equipment failures.
• Lead CI teams to improve tool matching, availability, throughput and reduce risk.
• Perform new tool start-up and tool upgrades to enhance fab capability and yields.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Production, Development and cross-functional teams.
