Job summary

QuickCruit is seeking a Senior Semiconductor Laser Engineer in Goleta, California, to develop quantum dot lasers for emerging datacom applications. You will design, fabricate, characterize, and analyze quantum dot lasers and other photonic components with a team of experts.

Responsibilities include design and fabrication in cleanroom, materials characterization, data analysis, presenting results, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and an advanced degree in engineering or science.
• 3+ years of experience in semiconductor laser design, fabrication and test.
• Proficiency with simulation and design tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to manage technicians.
• Excellent planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform design and fabrication of laser and other photonics devices in a cleanroom setting.
• Characterize lasers and other photonics devices.
• Conduct materials characterization and data analysis; prepare presentations summarizing data.
• Participate in meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with experts to design, fabricate, test, and analyze quantum dot lasers and other photonic components.
