Job summary

GlobalFoundries in Malta, New York is seeking a Failure Analysis Laboratory Technician to perform routine analytical tasks, prepare samples, and report results using defined procedures that ensure cycle time and quality targets are met. The ideal candidate has a 2-year technical/associate degree, experience in an analytical lab, and fluent English.

Shift work on a 12-hour day schedule is required, with opportunities to grow through training and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical/associate degree or equivalent military training/experience.
• Direct experience in an analytical laboratory, preferably related to failure analysis.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Ability to perform 12-hour day shift work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine analytical jobs using defined procedures, meeting cycle time and quality standards.
• Interact with lab engineers and managers to define methods and interpret results.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance to keep equipment running smoothly.
• Prepare samples (e.g., TEM/SEM) to enable analyses.
• Document results and report using standard software.
• Identify areas for improvement in cycle time, utilization, and cost.
• Assist with training new team members and promote a positive work environment.
• Complete required reporting and documentation.
• Participate in continuous improvement processes.
