Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking candidates for a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Scientist or Geologist position. The candidate must have demonstrated expertise working independently as well as leading a team of engineers and/or scientists on sediment remediation projects for a variety of clients including those in the Federal and/or Public sector.

Sediment remediation experience will be considered on an individual basis, but experience in the following bullets is preferred.

Qualifications

7 years of related experience and willingness to travel up to 10% or more depending on duties.

Responsibilities

Provide expertise evaluating sediment remediation technologies and design sediment remediation for riverine, coastal, riparian/floodplain, and port sites.
Understand sediment transport, site assessment, sampling/monitoring, cap modeling, dredge approaches, and remedial actions.
Support mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
Serve as CDM Smith’s task manager on complex sediments sites and communicate technical strategy to clients.
Possess expertise in CERCLA, GLLA, and other regulatory steps for contaminated sediment sites.
Act as a liaison with clients, public, and outside consultants, translating technical evaluations for non-experts.
Lead staff in preparing and reviewing technical information to ensure regulatory and policy compliance.
