Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Engineer to lead projects for Federal and Public sector clients. You will work independently and as part of a team, applying sediment remediation design and site assessment expertise.

The role requires strong communication with clients and stakeholders, capability to manage tasks, and familiarity with CERCLA and related regulatory steps. Travel up to 10% may be required; PE license preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional engineering (PE) license.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise evaluating feasibility of sediment remediation technologies and design rust for riverine, coastal, or port sites.
• Understand sediment transport, site assessment, sampling, cap modeling, dredge approaches, and remedial design.
• Support mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
• Serve as CDM Smith’s task manager on sediment sites, communicating strategy to clients and experts.
• Lead staff in preparing, reviewing, and ensuring technically sound documents compliant with regulations.
