Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Security Systems Technician with programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting capabilities. You will work with sales and project teams to ensure sound design and seamless installation of security system solutions.

Responsibilities include installing, programming, and commissioning access control, CCTV, and voice/data systems; producing field surveys and logs; coordinating with onsite teams; testing with customer reps; and ensuring

Qualifications

Knowledge of current security systems including access control, CCTV, and voice and data systems.
Ability to program and commission mid-range to complex security systems.
Advanced computer knowledge related to use, installation, and programming software.
Independent ability to program the security system manufacturer’s product platform(s).
Ability to terminate security control units and field equipment without supervision.
State, local, contract, and/or product specific certifications determined by the business.
Ability to read security system design drawings for installation and programming purposes.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency.
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and able to obtain OSHA 10 certification.
Customer-focused; skilled in project and people management.

Responsibilities

Install, program, and commission access control, CCTV, and voice and data systems via laptop computers.
Produce field surveys and daily project logs of activity.
Review system layouts and coordination with engineering, project management, and sales departments for successful project execution.
Demonstrate proper operation of equipment to customers, including instructions and how to respond to any system signals.
Make field decisions related to installation of items such as audible and visual notification and detection placement.
Interact with owner’s representative for testing and to resolve minor issues related to a security system final test.
Comply with industry standard procedures and Sciens safety programs/policies.
