Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Security Systems Technician to design, install, program, and commission security solutions while collaborating with sales, project teams, and clients. The role emphasizes precise execution, customer interaction, and safe field work.

The position requires hands-on expertise with access control, CCTV, and data networks, plus the ability to troubleshoot and deliver projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Two to five years of experience in a technician role within the building security systems industry.
• Knowledge of current security systems including access control, CCTV, and voice and data systems.
• Ability to program and commission mid-range security systems.
• State, local, contract, and/or product specific certifications determined by the business (e.g., OSHA 10).
• Ability to read security system design drawings.

Responsibilities

• Review system layouts and coordinate with engineering, project management, and sales departments for successful project execution.
• Install, program, and commission access control, CCTV, and voice and data systems via laptop computers.
• Produce field surveys and daily project logs of activity.
• Responsible for programming, commissioning, and final acceptance by customers, engineering forms and end users.
• Perform troubleshooting and enact effective resolution.
• Deliver projects on schedule and within cost budgets.
• Assist in the oversight of project and vehicle inventory.
• Provide support, guidance, and expertise to other technicians.
• Demonstrate proper operation of equipment and control units to customers, including instructions and how to respond to any system signals.
• Communicate and coordinate with onsite contractors.
• Comply with industry standard procedures and Sciens safety programs/policies.
