Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety in Lakewood, CO seeks a Lead Security Technician to install, test, and commission intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and other low-voltage systems, ensuring code compliance and customer satisfaction.

You will read blueprints and manuals, install components, complete documentation, and travel to job sites while upholding safety policies. Requires 3+ years in fire and life safety, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in fire and life safety.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (if driving role).
• Strong knowledge of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
• Experience with commercial security systems and integrated low-voltage platforms preferred.
• Manufacturer certifications in security or access control systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, and commission intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems.
• Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, layouts, and manuals.
• Install components per project specifications.
• Test system functionality and compliance with codes and standards.
• Troubleshoot installation issues and complete corrective actions.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Complete installation documentation and work orders on time.
• Communicate progress with customers and team members.
• Follow safety procedures and site requirements.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
