Job summary

Linktree is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Security team in a hands-on role. You’ll work on authentication and authorization improvements, secrets handling, abuse detection, and secure internal tooling to help every team ship securely.

You’ll use TypeScript, Node.js, React, GraphQL, PostgreSQL or MySQL, and AWS, partnering with Engineering, Product and Trust & Safety to harden systems while minimizing creator friction.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience in security, infrastructure, identity, or related domains where getting it wrong is expensive.
• Strong full-stack skills across TS/Node/React/GraphQL and databases, with end-to-end problem-solving ability.
• Knowledge of OWASP Top 10, authentication/authorization, secrets management, cryptography in practice, and attack classes against consumer platforms.
• Experience threat modelling real systems and turning outputs into shipped work.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship security improvements across the product, including authentication, authorization, session handling and secrets management.
• Build detection and response capabilities for abuse, account takeover, scraping and fraud.
• Threat model systems with squads and translate outputs into prioritized, shipped work.
• Own internal tooling that makes it easy for engineers to build securely by default.
• Triage vulnerabilities from internal findings, bug bounty and pen tests, and fix the class of problems rather than the instance.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product and Trust & Safety on hardening decisions and trade-offs.
• Incorporate AI to speed reviews, migrations and investigations while managing risk.
• Mentor colleagues and raise security standards through reviews, pairing and documentation.
