Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina seeks a Senior Safety & Security Advisor to lead enterprise safety, security operations, incident response, and executive protection support. This senior individual contributor role requires discretion, sound judgment, and the ability to manage investigations and protective assignments across locations.

You will collaborate with security leadership, coordinate with law enforcement as needed, and support risk assessments, policy enforcement, and vendor

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience; without degree must have 7 years related experience.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• CPR, AED, and first aid certification required within first 30 days.
• Eligible to obtain a concealed weapon license.

Responsibilities

• Support enterprise security operations, incident triage, and investigations.
• Respond to security incidents, emergencies, and events affecting people or facilities.
• Document, report, and escalate security concerns per established protocols.
• Provide backup operational support to the Manager during absences or surge periods.
• Coordinate with local, state, or federal law enforcement as needed.
• Assist with executive and Board protection during business hours and travel.
