Job summary

Tenable is seeking a Senior Research Engineer to join a hybrid team bridging Security Response and Decision Science Operations. You will balance hands-on security research with analytical work to guide investments and strategy.

Day-to-day, you will monitor the threat landscape, coordinate end-to-end responses to major vulnerabilities, and author blogs and advisories. You will work with Research, PR, Marketing, Product, and Program Management to deliver actionable results.

Qualifications

• Experience applying threat intelligence to security operations.
• Strong research background with ability to produce external-facing content.
• Ability to analyze data and translate findings into actionable guidance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the threat landscape in real time and research the impact of vulnerabilities.
• Coordinate the end-to-end Security Response process during major events.
• Create and refine technical content including blogs, advisories, and presentations.
• Respond to media inquiries and customer-driven events as they occur.
• Automate discovery and triage of high-profile events from open-source channels and advisories.
• Synthesize threat intelligence into backlog items for cross-functional teams.
