Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a QA engineer to design and build tests for security features and collaborate with QA and software engineers to plan, execute, and report results in a fast-moving environment.

You will design and implement test plans for security features, develop and maintain tests and tooling, and communicate findings clearly to teams involved. The role blends engineering rigor with collaborative QA work across the organization.

Qualifications

• Typical 5 or more years of experience as a Software QA Automation Engineer, or equivalent demonstrated capability.
• Proficiency in one or more scripting or programming languages, such as Swift, Objective-C, or Python
• Experience developing test frameworks and automated test tooling
• Experience designing automated and manual tests that surface hard to find defects
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to align stakeholders across teams
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to investigate issues independently
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond efficiently

Responsibilities

• Design and build tests for security features and partner with QA and software engineers to plan, execute, and report results.
• Design and implement test plans for security features across the organization.
• Develop and maintain automated tests and test tooling; investigate and debug issues.
• Communicate results and coordinate with developers, PMs, and other QA engineers to shape testing approaches.
