Job summary

U.S. Fleet Forces Command at Norfolk Naval Shipyard seeks a Security Officer to lead an integrated security and fire program, directing resources and supervising a multidisciplinary team.

You will coordinate with NAVSEA and FFC, assess mission impact of higher headquarters documents, and oversee classifications and declassifications, with rigorous DoD standards.

This role requires DoD certification and willingness to travel as needed, with travel to CONUS/OCONUS as required.

Qualifications

• Experience directing the development and management of integrated security and fire programs.
• Experience enforcing comprehensive security and fire policies across multiple domains (physical, information, industrial, personnel).
• Experience evaluating security clearances and maintaining secure environments.
• Experience in emergency preparedness and response.
• Experience planning and controlling security program resources and budgets.
• Experience supervising large, multi-disciplinary security teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan work for subordinates, set short-term priorities, and prepare schedules.
• Coordinate security programs with NAVSEA and U.S. Fleet Forces Command to balance requirements and resources.
• Review higher HQ documents to assess mission impact and needed actions.
• Advise on capabilities to achieve objectives and identify areas needing support.
• Direct allocation and utilization of all authorized resources for the security mission.
• Monitor expenditures for in-house and contracted security activities.
• Oversee all security functions within Norfolk Naval Shipyard.
• Administer classification, declassification, and downgrading of information; prepare guides.
