Job summary

Northern Trust Corp. seeks a Senior Lead, Security Engineer to engineer and operationalize enterprise security platforms across the bank.

You will own technical delivery, work with architecture and risk stakeholders, and drive deep technical troubleshooting while maintaining auditable controls. Candidates should bring 12+ years in IT/cybersecurity, hands-on SSE/SASE and firewall experience, plus strong scripting, ServiceNow integration, and collaboration across risk and compliance teams.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in IT/cybersecurity with hands-on enterprise security platforms.
• Experience with SSE/SASE, ZTNA, and secure web gateway architectures.
• Knowledge of vulnerability management, audits, and regulatory exams (PCI-DSS, SOX, GLBA, OCC/FFIEC).

Responsibilities

• Engineer and operate security tools spanning zero-trust, SASE/SSE, and vulnerability management.
• Partner with engineering, infrastructure and application teams on security initiatives.
• Define runbooks, publish metrics, and support audits with evidence quality.
• Integrate security tools with ServiceNow, SIEM, and reporting workflows.
• Evaluate new capabilities and provide risk-based recommendations.
