Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Senior Security Analyst to lead day-to-day security operations, drive improvements, and advance detection engineering across Pearson’s environments. The role emphasizes rapid incident response, automation, and collaboration with internal and external partners.

You will refine SOC processes, develop detection capabilities, and ensure alignment with Pearson’s security standards and regulatory requirements, while working in a hybrid Durham-based environment.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in regulated environments or government clients.
• 4+ years in security operations, incident response and detection engineering.
• Hands-on with SOAR, EDR, NDR and SIEM technologies.
• Experience with one or more Cloud Service Providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong communication skills for stakeholder management and translating technical risk to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced SOC operations and 24x7 coverage.
• Develop, implement, and optimize detection logic, playbooks, and automated response workflows.
• Continuously assess and enhance SOC processes and procedures.
• Collaborate with threat intelligence teams to analyze risks and integrate relevant TTPs.
• Deliver executive-level reporting, risk assessments, and metrics for SOC operations.
