Job summary

Pearson’s Security Operations Center seeks a Senior Security Analyst to lead day-to-day security operations, drive process improvements, and advance detection engineering across Pearson’s environments. You will refine SOC processes, develop detection capabilities, and ensure alignment with Pearson’s standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Must have experience working with regulated environments or government clients.
• 4+ years of experience in security operations, incident response, and detection engineering.
• Hands-on experience with SOAR, EDR, NDR, and SIEM technologies.
• Experience with one or more Cloud Service Providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong multitasking, adaptability and ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent communication skills, especially in stakeholder management and translating risk to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute advanced SOC operations with incident detection, triage, containment and root cause analysis.
• Develop, implement, and optimize detection logic, playbooks, and automated response workflows.
• Continuously assess and enhance SOC processes and procedures.
• Collaborate with threat intelligence teams to analyze risks and integrate relevant TTPs into SOC operations.
• Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, translating technical findings into actionable insights.
• Ensure SOC activities comply with standards (e.g., NCSC, Cyber Essentials Plus) and Pearson policies.
• Deliver executive-level reporting, risk assessments, and metrics to demonstrate SOC effectiveness.
