Job summary

Collectors is seeking a Security Operations Engineer to join our Cybersecurity team, partnering with the broader Product and Tech org to drive secure by default architectures and ensure the security and integrity of our infrastructure. You’ll work from Santa Ana, CA, with remote or hybrid options considered.

In this role, you’ll lead detection engineering across cloud platforms, incident response, threat hunting, automation, and telemetry improvements, collaborating with cross-functional teams

Qualifications

• 5+ years in security operations, incident response, or detection engineering.
• Hands-on experience securing AWS at scale in a multi-account setup; familiarity with GCP or Azure is a plus.
• Strong SIEM proficiency—built and tuned detections, written complex queries, and managed log pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Drive detection engineering across cloud platforms and enterprise tooling with detections treated as code.
• Lead incident command and containment, forensics, remediation, and post-incident reviews.
• Conduct proactive threat hunts across cloud, SaaS, identity, and on-prem infrastructure to improve detections.
• Design and build automation and SOAR playbooks to reduce toil and speed responses.
• Own and improve the security data pipeline across cloud, SaaS, and on-prem sources.
• Scale security efforts by integrating automation for vulnerability prioritization and remediation.
• Partner with infrastructure, platform, and engineering teams to embed security requirements in new services.
• Participate in on-call rotations and improve runbooks and escalation paths.
