Job summary

Knox seeks a senior security operations analyst to run an on‑call shift, take escalations, and drive containment and handovers. You will mentor junior staff, maintain precise shift logs, and set the standard in handling high‑priority security requests.

Responsibilities include improving detections, tuning runbooks, and contributing to a fast, reliable security operations workflow within a federal-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years in security or network operations with shift work.
• Strong escalation judgment: know when to contain, monitor, or escalate.
• Security+ or equivalent; CySA+ or SSCP is a plus and funded if needed.
• Willingness to teach less experienced teammates under time pressure.

Responsibilities

• Run a shift as the senior analyst on duty.
• Take escalations from Tier 1 and see them through to containment or handover.
• Coach the analyst on duty through the decision rather than taking it away.
• Own the quality of your shift log and ensure it is detailed for the next shift.
• Handle escalated customer requests and set the standard for how the queue gets worked.
• Suggest detection and runbook improvements based on shift findings.
