Job summary

Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center is seeking a Senior Security Officer to lead a shift, report to the supervisor, and act in place of the supervisor when needed. The role includes hospital security incident investigations, crisis response, and safety-related emergency response.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalency, a valid PA driver's license, and the ability to obtain Basic Life Support certification within six months of hiring.

The senior security officer acts as a group leader for their shift. While not technically a supervisor, the senior security officer will report to their supervisor and act in the supervisors stead when the supervisor is not present. The senior security officer is responsible for hospital security incident investigation, crisis response, combative patient intervention, and safety related emergency response.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

• High School Diploma or equivalency required
• Valid Pennsylvania state driver's license is required
• Must obtain Basic Life Support (CPR and AED) certification within six months of hiring
  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

• Graduate of police academy or security course preferred.
• A minimum of six (6) months police or security experience preferred.
