Job summary

Rackspace Technology is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Manager to build and lead a new observability and vulnerability management team. You will guide security engineering, operations tooling, vulnerability management, and detection engineering to validate exposure across networks and platforms.

You will translate complex findings into actionable remediation plans, drive executive reporting, and collaborate with customers to ensure security outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical discipline is required.
• Experience leading and directing planning, development and implementation of technical security systems, controls and practices.
• 10+ years of relevant technical work experience required.
• 4+ years of relevant technical management experience required.
• Experience owning enterprise security tools, vulnerability management programs, operational metrics, vendor relationships, and cross-functional remediation outcomes is required.
• Hands-on technical security depth is required; able to evaluate deployment, integration, tuning, monitoring and risk reduction outcomes.
• Strong understanding of vulnerability management lifecycle practices including asset discovery, authenticated scanning, remediation tracking, and executive reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead security engineering and operations teams covering vulnerability management, detection engineering, incident investigation and cloud security.
• Oversee enterprise security tools: EDR, NDR, IDPS/IPS, scanners, SIEM/SOAR, asset inventory, and cloud security tooling.
• Assess tool deployment telemetry, integration, tuning and expected security outcomes.
• Translate findings into operational plans, remediation priorities and executive reporting.
• Provide technical guidance to staff, colleagues and customers.
• Prioritize customer needs and drive proactive problem-solving for customer success.
• Adapt to dynamic customer needs with innovative security solutions.
• Participate in business continuity, DLP and fraud prevention initiatives.
• Define security architecture, goals and metrics aligned with corporate strategy.
• Develop and implement global security policy, standards and procedures.
• Oversee incident response planning and breach investigations; coordinate with outside consultants as needed.
• Engage with vendors and independent security audits.
