Job summary

Datadog is seeking a senior polyglot engineer with expertise in .NET (C#) or Java to design and implement security libraries and detections. You will take ideas from prototype to production and own them operationally across thousands of applications.

You will drive product engineering outcomes, collaborate with product, backend, and frontend teams, and mentor peers while maintaining a focus on performance, cost, and reliability.

Qualifications

• Expert in at least one of .NET (C#) or Java with the ability to contribute idiomatically to other libraries.
• Strong software-engineering fundamentals and modular, maintainable code.
• Product-engineering mindset focused on customer outcomes and trade-offs.
• Experience building and shipping libraries or SDKs with packaging and backward compatibility.
• Interest in performance, cost, and operational ownership in production.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own security integrations and detections across multiple libraries using .NET and/or Java.
• Take projects from prototype to production, ensuring correctness and operability at scale.
• Own systems operationally by monitoring telemetry, debugging cross-system issues, and reducing customer issues.
• Shape roadmaps, define OKRs, and drive RFCs for alignment across security library teams.
• Collaborate with product management and backend/frontend teams to turn ideas into adoption.
• Mentor teammates, raise code quality, and improve team effectiveness.
• Represent the company in relevant language and security communities.
