Truist is seeking a senior security engineer in the Charlotte area to design and deliver advanced cybersecurity capabilities across the full software lifecycle. You will lead threat modeling, security testing, and penetration testing across high-risk platforms, and drive secure-by-design practices with product and engineering teams.

The role requires 7+ years in security engineering, deep cybersecurity knowledge, and hands-on experience with complex information security technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, and work-related experience.
• 7+ years of security engineering or related cybersecurity experience.
• Deep specialized knowledge in cybersecurity principles and concepts.
• Experience with software development lifecycle security practices.
• Knowledge of threat modeling, security testing, and penetration testing.
• Experience implementing and managing complex information security technologies.

Responsibilities

• Designs and implements advanced cybersecurity solutions protecting critical assets within the job area.
• Performs threat modeling, security testing, and penetration testing for high-risk platforms and services.
• Integrates and configures information security technologies in production environments.
• Serves as a technical escalation point for security issues and creates reusable solutions.
• Assesses emerging threats and provides guidance shaping technical plans and priorities.
• Collaborates with product and engineering to apply secure-by-design practices and governance.
