Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join our Enterprise Application Security team and drive security into the software development lifecycle. You will shape shift-left practices and embed security in every stage—from code to production deployment.

This high-impact role partners with engineering to deploy security scanners, enforce gates, automate triage, and enable developers with secure coding standards at scale across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 7+ years in information security, risk management, or IT security.
• Experience with secure SDLC and security controls in CI/CD.
• Strong collaboration with engineering and architecture teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead definition of security requirements across SDLC and AI-enabled workflows.
• Architect and enforce shift-left security controls and gatekeeping.
• Automate vulnerability triage, escalation, and reporting pipelines.
• Develop and maintain security standards, libraries, and reference architectures.
• Grow Security Champions program and empower developers.
