Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join our Enterprise Application Security team. This role focuses on embedding security into the software development lifecycle, from the first line of code to production deployment, with an emphasis on shift-left practices and AI-enabled development.

You will design and enforce security gates, manage scanners across the enterprise, and drive prevention of vulnerabilities before they arise.

Qualifications

• Senior security engineering or similar role within software development
• Experience embedding security into SDLC and pipelines
• Familiarity with AI-enabled development and security tooling

Responsibilities

• Lead design of shift-left security controls across CI/CD pipelines.
• Guardrails for AI-assisted development workflows and code review.
• Operate and tune SAST/DAST, SCA, container scanning, and secrets detection tools.
• Develop security-as-code policies and governance for enterprise software delivery.
• Partner with engineering teams to enable secure-by-default AI development practices.
