Job summary

Highmark Health is hiring a Senior Security Engineer to join the Enterprise Application Security team. You will embed security into every stage of the software development lifecycle, partnering with engineering to prevent vulnerabilities before release.

You will design guardrails, enforce gates, and lead risk reduction using AI-driven security practices across the enterprise, enabling secure, scalable software delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS or related field required.
• Experience in secure SDLC and security tooling across CI/CD.
• Strong knowledge of application security controls and governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams to define requirements, deliverables and timelines.
• Implement and enforce shift-left security controls across SDLC.
• Develop security training, workshops and reference materials.
• Embed secure-by-default AI development practices in pipelines.
• Monitor metrics and drive continuous improvement in AppSec.
