Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to embed security into our software development lifecycle, guiding shift-left security and secure AI development within enterprise systems.

You will partner with engineering teams to enforce guardrails, implement security scanners, and evolve the application security toolchain across the organization, ensuring secure-by-default practices in CI/CD and AI-enabled workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or closely related field.
• 7 years with Information Security and Systems Analysis.
• Experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins.
• Proficiency in scripting languages for security automation (Python, Go, Bash).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement security guardrails that catch vulnerabilities early in the development process.
• Configure and enforce pipeline security gates across the enterprise.
• Develop security-as-code policies and enforcement rules.
• Lead risk-based triage and remediation prioritization of vulnerabilities.
