Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to assess and mitigate security risks for Akamai’s platforms and customers.

You will guide security design for new and existing applications, systems, and platforms, reporting to the Director of Security Engineering. The role emphasizes researching adversarial techniques, conducting comprehensive security assessments, and implementing controls aligned with NIST standards, with opportunities to collaborate across IT and engineering

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant security experience and a Bachelor's degree.
• Proven experience with network security analysis or intrusion management.
• Experience with malware and vulnerability identification and mitigation.
• Experience identifying software and application compromises and vulnerabilities.
• Experience with secure deployment and usage of infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS).
• Demonstrate experience in FedRAMP and/or CMMC certified environments.

Responsibilities

• Research adversarial techniques, vulnerabilities, and detection/response strategies.
• Conduct security assessments of networks, applications, and systems to identify risks and mitigations.
• Assist with design and deployment of security controls.
• Perform compliance and policy investigations of internal systems.
• Document security guidelines and policies (NIST 800-53/800-171).
• Provide security guidance to Akamai business units.
• Leverage AI capabilities to enhance processes and automation.
• Develop scripts and tools to support security operations.
