Job summary

Cleary Gottlieb is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to design and maintain the firm’s cybersecurity infrastructure, guiding the safe implantation of cloud and AI systems. This role operates within a hybrid environment and leads key security projects across Microsoft 365 Defender, Azure, Entra ID, Sentinel, and Purview.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Security, Risk Management, or a related field.
• At least five years experience in Information Security or similar type role.
• Awareness of secure software development principles.
• Solid networking knowledge: routing, firewalls, NAT, proxies, next-gen SASE.
• Familiarity with Data Loss concepts and strategies.
• Experience with SIEM log analysis.
• Strong independence and ability to report milestones to senior management.
• CISSP, CISM, Microsoft, Palo Alto, Splunk, Cisco certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI security strategy, design, and implementation.
• Onboard AI use cases securely including DevSecOps and CSPM tooling.
• Design and maintain secure cloud architecture (Azure, AWS, Office365).
• Build continuous audit and alerting in cloud environments.
• Develop IAM strategies for cloud environments.
• Monitor data protection policies using M365 Security and Purview.
• Lead incident response and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans.
• Document risk assessments for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with IT, legal, and compliance to align security initiatives.
