Job summary

Pomelo Care is a leading virtual medical practice for women and children across the United States, combining 24/7 clinical care with technology. We are seeking a Senior Security Engineer to own the execution side—controls, automation, and code—that reduce risk, with broad latitude to decide what matters and ship it.

You will build secure-by-default libraries and guardrails, implement strict least-privilege policies, and harden environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering with production-grade code.
• Strong security depth: threat modeling, identity and auth flows, OWASP Top 10, cloud and supply-chain security.
• Experience in healthcare security and HIPAA/HITRUST is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own security problems end to end: decide what matters and ship it independently.
• Build secure-by-default libraries, guardrails, and tooling for fast yet safe engineering.
• Define least-privilege guardrails across services to protect patient data and metrics.
• Harden developer machines to minimize supply chain risks and AI-related threats.
• Collaborate with compliance to map control objectives into real controls.
