Job summary

Socket.dev seeks a Sr. Security Engineer - Federal Customer to join an on-site team in Chantilly, VA, 5 days a week. This role requires TS/SCI clearance and will help secure and maintain compliance for next-generation IT workloads.

You will work with DevOps engineers to design, deploy, and secure platform infrastructure, automate security practices, and ensure government/industry standards are met across networking and cloud-native components.

Qualifications

• Experience with Authority to Operate (ATO) processes and NIST SP 800-53 frameworks.
• Ability to communicate with vendors and customers to implement solutions.
• Experience operating Linux/Windows networks and firewall rule sets.
• Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to maintain access.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality security assessments of network and platform components.
• Develop security automation to meet industry best practices.
• Assist with internal/external customer interactions and documentation.
• Maintain security and compliance across infrastructure, with secure deployment.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers on security best practices.
• Ensure designs meet compliance and security requirements in deployments.
