Job summary

Dell GmbH seeks a Sr. Security Engineer - Federal Customer to design, deploy, and secure infrastructure within a federal program. The role emphasizes automation, compliance, and rapid security enhancements while working with DevOps teams.

The candidate will perform high-stakes security assessments, maintain government/industry-standard compliance, and help drive security across Linux, network devices, and cloud-native platforms in Chantilly, VA. On-site work is required with TS/SCI eligibility.

Qualifications

• ATO process experience required.
• Familiarity with NIST SP 800-53 and CSRM frameworks.
• Experience with Security Center and Nessus.
• Proficiency with log/event aggregation tools (Splunk/Wazuh/SysLog).
• Knowledge of VLAN/LAN/WAN topologies.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.
• Experience with Linux/Windows networking devices and firewalls.
• Knowledge of Wireshark and tcpdump.
• Active TS/SCI eligibility and maintenance capability.
• 15+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Perform security assessments of network and platform components and mitigate risks.
• Develop security automation aligning with industry best practices.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders for security documentation.
• Ensure infrastructure security and compliance across deployments.
• Roll out new designs meeting security requirements and assist with deployment.
