Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Sr. Security Engineer to join the Enterprise Security team and turn security requirements into preventive controls across the enterprise environment.

You will implement, integrate, test, and improve protections across apps, identity, endpoints, networks, SaaS, and data-security systems, emphasizing automation and reusable patterns to reduce manual work at scale.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in security engineering, enterprise security, infrastructure security, cloud security, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience implementing, integrating, testing, and maintaining security controls in production enterprise environments.
• Strong programming and automation skills using Python, Go, or comparable languages, including API integrations, IaC, and version control.
• Experience engineering security controls across identity, endpoint, SaaS, cloud, network, or data protection.
• Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, SSO, OAuth, service identities, API security, secrets management, and least-privilege principles.
• Experience developing automated security checks, configuration validation, drift detection, and remediation workflows.
• Hands-on experience building or integrating AI-assisted or agent-based security automation with proper access controls, testing, auditing.
• Ability to translate approved security requirements into preventive controls, troubleshoot challenges, and validate effectiveness.
• Experience applying reliable software engineering practices like automated testing, CI/CD, error handling, and monitoring.
• Proven ability to independently deliver security engineering improvements with cross-functional collaboration and measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Translate security requirements into preventive controls across enterprise systems.
• Implement access, configuration, endpoint, network, and data‑protection guardrails with IT and platform owners.
• Develop reusable implementations and secure configuration patterns to reduce gaps.
• Build and maintain security automation using Python, Go, APIs, Terraform, and related tools.
• Automate recurring configuration checks, access validation, evidence collection, and remediation workflows.
• Develop AI-assisted security automation with appropriate controls, testing, and auditability.
• Integrate security platforms to streamline review workflows and enforcement.
• Create automated testing, monitoring, and validation for controls to verify effectiveness.
• Identify gaps and drift, partnering with system owners to drive remediation.
• Collaborate across security, IT, and platform teams to deliver security improvements.
