Job summary

Tanium is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join the Customer Transparency team within the R&D Security organization. You will own the vulnerability disclosure program and drive security improvements that customers can understand and act on.

You’ll build security tooling, manage SBOM and vulnerability processes, and serve as a technical security resource for customer-facing teams while engaging with researchers and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years industry experience, 7+ preferred
• Experience with product and application security, vulnerability research, or software engineering with a security focus
• Experience interacting with customers and external security researchers
• Experience applying AI tooling to security work
• Experience building tools or data interfaces used by external stakeholders
• Experience with modern software engineering development and automation tools like git and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience determining the severity and exploitability of a vulnerability and their impact to the business

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain security tooling, leveraging AI to streamline security processes
• Identify what customers can't see about their Tanium deployment and close gaps with Engineering and Product
• Oversee SBOM and vulnerability management program and provide visibility to stakeholders
• Collaborate with Customers, Partners, and Tanium's Customer organization to learn customer needs and build systems to solve them
• Act as a security technical resource for customer-facing teams: answer inquiries, maintain library of answers
• Administer Tanium's bug bounty program: triage reports, assess severity, adjudicate submissions, foster researcher relationships
• Publish Tanium Security Advisories and CVE records with CWE and CVSS
• Coordinate disclosure timing with researchers, customers, partners, and external bodies
