Job summary

Fuze Health is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to strengthen security across on-prem and cloud environments. You will collaborate across teams, perform threat modeling, and develop automation in Python to improve coverage of security tooling.

You will also support audits and incident readiness while contributing to compliance programs. Ideal applicants have strong Kubernetes security experience, scripting skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in security engineering, with a strong focus on infrastructure, application and cloud security.
• Hands-on experience securing Kubernetes (K8s) and container platforms in production environments.
• Proficiency in scripting/automation (Python, Bash, Terraform or similar).
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with excellent communication skills.
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team environment.
• Experience in building and maintaining security systems in a Cloud and on-premises environment.
• Hands-on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc.
• Experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools.
• Good understanding of security principles and best practices (CIS benchmarks, NIST, OWASP).
• Familiarity with web technologies (Web apps, Web services, APIs) and related protocols.
• Travel within the US may be required on an irregular basis (minimal travel).
• BS degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, GIAC, OSCP).

Responsibilities

• Work with many teams to promote strong security controls and mitigations and perform architectural reviews.
• Review designs to assess security posture and advise architecture from threat modeling.
• Develop automation to integrate various systems using Python and other tools.
• Write documentation including policies and procedures.
• Oversee vulnerability scanning across networks, containers, and cloud environments.
• Design and implement infrastructure security controls for servers, cloud, and containers.
• Support compliance initiatives (HiTrust, ISO 27001).
• Assist with external customer and vendor audits and participate in on-call rotations.
