Kin Insurance is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to run security operations in a remote-first setup. You will own the EDR/MDR stack, lead incident response from first alert to containment, and architect security controls across AWS, Google Workspace, and identity services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in security operations, detection and response, or security engineering.
• Hands-on experience running a modern EDR program: building and tuning detection logic, response runbooks, and investigations.
• Endpoint security across managed and BYOD fleets, device posture, baselining, MDM.
• IAM requirements: access controls, RBAC design, SSO-based reviews.
• AWS security across IAM, networks, logging, and config management; remediation of findings.

Responsibilities

• Own and tune our EDR/MDR stack, build detection policies and automation.
• Lead end-to-end incident response: investigation, containment, remediation.
• Own endpoint security for managed and BYOD devices; set posture standards and policies.
• Define security requirements for identity program; implement in SSO; drive access reviews.
• Build and remediate security controls across AWS, Google Workspace, identity, data protection.
• Serve as security front door; turn around tickets quickly and guide teams.
• Conduct threat modeling and deliver actionable risk assessments.
• Educate Kinfolk and foster a culture of security across the company.
