Job summary

Rainmaker Technology Corporation is hiring a Senior Security Engineer to embed security into software and hardware development and field operations. You will write production code, design secure defaults across AWS, applications, and company systems, and automate controls with clear audit trails.

You’ll work with engineers to test, operate, and improve secure systems while keeping workflows usable. The role emphasizes risk-based decision making, implementable security patterns, and collaboration

Qualifications

• Experience building and maintaining security automation in production.
• Strong software engineering in Python or TypeScript, with testing and deployment.
• Cloud security experience, turning access policies, network boundaries, and logging requirements into reusable infrastructure as code.
• Understanding of application security, authentication, authorization, secrets management, and vulnerabilities.
• Experience investigating security findings and carrying fixes through to deployment.
• Sound judgment about risk, reliability, and maintenance costs.

Responsibilities

• Map critical systems, data flows, and access paths; transform risks into actionable plans.
• Build secure-by-default AWS infrastructure with least-privilege access and logging.
• Review designs and code; implement reusable auth patterns and fix vulnerabilities at source.
• Automate provisioning, secrets management, and rotation with audit trails and recovery paths.
• Integrate security checks into development and deployment workflows to catch leaks and vulnerable dependencies.
• Develop detections and test incident response with system owners.
