Job summary

C1 is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join a small, early-stage security team. You will build agents and automation to integrate security into the development lifecycle, focusing on risk-based design and secure-by-default practices.

The role blends security engineering, application and cloud security, with a Go and AWS stack and a hands-on, broad remit. You will drive security standards, perform threat modeling, and collaborate across engineering, compliance, and security teams to deliver

Qualifications

• Hands-on security engineering experience in fast-growing environments.
• Experience building security automation and agentic tools.
• Proficiency with Go and AWS is required.
• Ability to drive threat modeling and risk assessments.
• Strong collaboration across security, compliance, and engineering.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive security standards and secure-by-default solutions.
• Build purpose-built agents and skills to automate manual security work.
• Shift security left by baking risk-based review into design specs.
• Develop security tooling and automation that scales across engineering.
• Lead threat modeling and risk assessment for high-risk features.
• Assess risks from AI-powered features in production and mitigate.
• Partner with engineering to define API security standards and review code.
• Adopt open-source tools to assess and test services.
• Identify systemic risks and lead multi-team remediation efforts end-to-end.
• Collaborate with security, compliance and engineering on cross-domain problems.
• Contribute to SOC 2 / ISO compliance efforts related to your area.
