Job summary

OutSystems is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to own security initiatives across the SDLC for our AI-powered low-code platform. You will work with engineering, product, and customer teams to reduce risk and embed security by design.

You will mentor junior engineers, build security tooling, and help secure AI-generated code and workflows while delivering measurable improvements to security signals and risk reduction.

Qualifications

• Proven experience executing application security work in modern cloud-native environments.
• Strong grounding in application security fundamentals: secure design and threat modeling.
• Ability to independently manage and deliver moderately complex security tasks from start to finish.
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and microservices architectures.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools or agents to accelerate delivery while maintaining security.

Responsibilities

• Drive security work across SDLC from design to release.
• Deliver moderately complex security projects or features.
• Secure AI-powered and agentic capabilities early in development.
• Conduct security assessments of applications, APIs, and services.
• Improve secure-by-default patterns, guardrails, and paved roads for scale.
• Extend security tooling and automation to reduce manual work.
• Communicate risks and recommendations clearly to engineering partners.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team culture.
